Bonjourno!

After three nights in beautiful Roma, we have arrived last night in Praiano, a town in the amalfi coast in sw italy.

Briefly about Roma...

We stayed at a very young and fun hostel in brand new rooms.  All the workers were in their 20s and from usa, australia, canada, or london.  Super cool people.  Our first night we ended up going out  with Brian and Danny (shirleys friends who are also traveling).  We spent the next two days seeing the sights...The Vatican, Roman Steps, Colosseum, etc. and some shopping downtown.  We found a delicious tratoria right in front of our hostel which we enjoyed many meals at.  The other night we sat on the Spanish Steps with people from all over the world.  A couple local guys were playing guitars and we were all singing classic songs.  Very cool experience.  We went on a pubcrawl around the city with other hostel friends and visited the rome bars.  Lots of night life and good times around the city.

Briefly about Amalfi coast...

Yesteday We took a train to Naples and then jumped aboard a ferry which took us down and across the sea to amalfi coast.  The scenery was amazing.
We checked into a beautiful hotel, with grown ups, which is on a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean sea.  We were somehow upgraded to a room which over looks the sea and is accompanied by our own private terrace and pool next to the room overlooking the water.  This is in Praiano.  It looks exactly like one of the scenes in Under the Tuscan Sun when Diane Lane goes to visit her man.  AMAZING.  Everyone travels around on little mo pads and motorcycles.  We went on a boat tour of the Blue Grado, beautiful caves in the rock in the sea.  Our boatman let us jump out and swim in the Mediterranean in the cave while serenading us italian songs.  Tonight we are going to a club in praiano which over looks the sea and has a glass floor which you look through to see the fish.

Everything from the food, wine, people, and hotels have been incredible and like nothing I have ever experienced.  Tomorrow we are going to Amalfi to see the beaches and go shopping.

Sorry about the spelling..im running out of internet time...

Stay tuned....

Hope all is well with everyone on the home front...
