Hey everyone!  Sorry it's taken so long to get an blog out while on our trip.  This is the first chance we've gotten to get to an Internet Cafe.  So far our trip has been GREAT.  We are enjoying exploring and just seeing everything.

London was very nice.  Our hotel was quaint but close to the Tube (subway) which was convenient.  Unfortunately, we had rain pretty much the whole time but we managed with our umbrellas.  It's much colder here than we expected but luckily we brought a LOT of clothes...haha...we always bring too much.  While in London, we went on a night walking tour and learned all the gory details of Jack the Ripper's murders.  That was neat and very eerie at the same time.  Oh, and everything is uber expensive here.  We paid $40 just to eat a hamburger, fries, and appetizer.  We've been careful to watch the spending and eat a lot of our granola bars and treats we brought from home.  Most dinners we eat out though to experience the culture.  We mastered the Tube in London and love it.  Kingsburg needs one..haha!  We tried Vietnamese food in London which was kinda cool.  Neat little restaurants everywhere, it's so hard to choose.  On the second day, we rode a tour bus all day that you can hop on and off whenever you like.  That was how we got around and saw things like Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Tower of London, etc.  We also took a boat tour down the river in London.  We've got lots of pics to bring back...even one of me walking on Abby Road!

On to Paris...that's where we are now.  We took the Eurostar train (through the Chunnel) from London to Paris.  It was a very fast train (187 mph).  We tried staying awake to look out the window but we were both very sleepy being that it was just a chance to sit and relax.  After arriving, we were able to buy Metro (subway) tickets using Kerry's seven words of French that he knows by heart.  Luckily it worked and we got on the Metro with all of our suitcases in hand.  Our hotel is in a great location.  It's called Timhotel.  We love calling it Timmy for some reason.  We're across the street from the Metro, lots of shops, cafes, just everything we need near us.  We love the baguettes, crepes, eclaires, and just trying all the street food.  We took a loooooooong walk without a map last night to the Eiffel Tower.  This thing is blingin'!  It starts sparkling every half hour or something and is amazing!  Today we went and saw Notre Dame (over hour wait in cold line, tons of stairs to the bell tower, but amazing view), Saint Chapelle, Pantheon, and Luxemburg Park.  They're all pretty amazing places, so beautiful.  Tomorrow we plan to go to the Louvre where the Mona Lisa is.  Thursday will be Disneyland and Friday the Palace of Varsailles.  We'll try to write again after a few days of some more sightseeing.

We're learning a lot of lessons in foreign travel and hope that we can bring lots of quick tips for when Joey and Darrah come here later in the year.

Lots of love!!
Kerry and Kathy
