Next city in our tour was Dieppe and what a more perfect day to arrive in Dieppe then on Remembrance Day. Sadly we only arrived in the afternoon and all the events had finished. We decided to get a hotel that night and finally got a nice shower and ate some great pizza for supper (BBQ pizza is amazing!). The next day we decided to go into the city center and look around before making our way to Rouen.
Dieppe is a beautiful town and although it's grown it still has an old town feel. One thing I love about it is its Canadian Connections. One of the main roads is Canadian Boulevard and there is a Canadian Roundabout. They have a monument for all the Canadians that fought in WWI and there is, regrettably, The Commonwealth War Graves with the Canadian Cemetery. We visited the monument but were unable to visit the cemetery due to time, and we’ve had enough WWI for a few days anyway.
We decided to take a walk along the beach which although beautiful wouldn’t be very comfortable to lie down on considering its covered in fist sized pebbles
Are you getting exhausted by all the jumping from place to place because we sure are!! Hehe!

. It was fun looking at all the rocks and finding funny shaped ones like a heart and a face. We even found chalk rock and wrote a few things on various rocks. Walking on rocks is a good workout for your ankles so after awhile we made our way up the hill to the castle. There is a great view of Dieppe form the top and we could see their two huge churches and the stunning coast. After making friends with a cat, who we named Cookie Dough and declared guardian of the castle, we explored a little more before making our way back to the car and on to Rouen.
