Mainz was all about some quality time with my mum! Being the best mom ever she got me and Chris a room for the night at her hotel. We arrived and dropped off our stuff and then called my mum up. She is a flight attendant which is why we were so lucky to get to see her during one of her flights. She arrives in the morning after working all night and sleeps till 2pm so after she woke up it was time for reunion hugs and exchanging of gifts. We had some presents to be given to our family members and friends and she had lots of goodies for us…mostly me! Fist and foremost she brought us delicious Kraft Dinner, which was promptly eated while sitting in the van in the following days! Secondly she brought us lots of little snacks and munchies for the road, which was nice while we were driving and didn’t want to ruin our appetites for later. She also brought us some books and magazines which have since been completed by the both of us (nice choices mum!). And lastly were my gifts! A wonderful coat to keep me nice and warm in the cold weather (which oddly enough stopped as soon as I got the coat…oh well) and some knee high boots so I can look cute when going out (Thank god because running shoes and a skirt just weren’t doing me justice).
After a little catching up we went out for coffee/hot chocolate and caught up some more. Chris’s eyes started to glaze over so we released him back to the hotel for some R&R and continued chatting away. After a little shopping and a little sightseeing we made our way back to my mum’s room for a little hair dying! Mine not hers! I was going to get Chris to do it but that’s dangerous so luckily I had a trained mommy professional to help me out. We met up with Chris for supper and I was a brand new red head! Yay!
My Mom led us to a delicious Thai restaurant where we chowed down on way to much food. I only ordered entrees and I was stuffed and boy were those good tempura veggies! After a nice walk home to work off all the food we said our goodnights and went to our rooms. Luckily my mom’s flight was only at noon the next day so we were able to get up and give her some hugs and kisses goodbye!
Oh and I almost forgot! While me and my mom were chatting away, Chris went off and got us each a flower. One for my mom, since it was her birthday, and one for me, well, just because I’m me! Isn’t he a sweetie pie! It’s a good thing he never reads these ;-)!! Hehe!
That ended our trip to Mainz but it was worth it for a little quality time with my mom! Hopefully we will get another chance to get together. Love you Mommy!
