The next day was Oktoberfest day! Wake up call at 830, breakfast and on to the stokebus to the tents
! We arrived at 1030 and had a litre of beer in our hands by 1130! The tents were huge, the pretzels were huge, the band was huge and the beer was massive! The tents were full up by 1230 (This was a Monday) and the party started! I managed to drink a litre (very proud) even though it took 3 hours, one giant pretzel, one giant pork knuckle and one giant donut! Chris had 3 litres and boy was it fun to watch! I am amazed at how much some people can drink! There was many people in full out lederhosen gear which was kinda awesome!
Now Oktoberfest isn't just a place of drinking…its all out Disneyland! They build rollarcoasters and haunted houses and rides! There is also fooooddd everywhere! So much Candy! They have chocolate covered fruit stands and they were delicious! We were there from 10am till 7pm so we took a nice nap on a hill to sleep off the beer (We wernt the only ones)
We both feel that Oktoberfest met and exceeded expectations! We also both feel it would have been sooo fun if we had more friends with us but you cant always get what you want (as the rolling stones would say)!
We were thinking about staying an extra day but we were very satisfied with our Oktoberfest experience and moved on to our next destination!
Well we arrived in Munich to be greeted by Stoke Travel. We booked 2 nights with the Stoke company to stay at their campsite and party with them…and boy was it a party! When we arrived it was already too late to go into Oktoberfest so we chilled at the campsite. The campsite is all you can drink beer and everyone was taking advantage of this treat! We arrived and got automatically poured a beer and thrown into a drinking game. Me, not being a big fan of beer lost a few times and had a good skull (Aussie term for chug) of my beer…oh yuck! Most of the people at Stoketoberfest are from Australia and the UK. We represented North America! Haha! Well the Aussies know how to Party because it was all night drinking and music! There were a lot of wicked campers there too which was fun to see!
