With all the fun I was having in Amsterdam I pushed my plan ticket back a week and stayed on in this enchanting city. Anders had to go back to work, so that left me relaxing, seeing more sights, watching more movies, and jogging through the park. Actually I ended up getting a gym membership to do some Dutch spinning for the week I was here. How fun was that, back to traditional road-style spinning, unlike Hungary with the arm bending, it kicked my ass. Guess running only 3 days/week isn't keeping me on the up and up, oh well!

A couple highlights that finished out the week for me were the Van Gogh Museum featuring a Max Beckmann exhibition, the Biblical Museum also with a Max Beckmann exhibit and Our Lord in the Attic Museum. Our Lord in the Attic was by far my favorite. Set in an old traditional Dutch home, this church was created for the Catholics to continue worshipping during a time of scrutiny. On the 2nd floor is the Nave and Altar with two balconies, all together this church houses 150 member. It was such a sight to see! Much more different than all the other churches I have visited on my travels and also to get a real glimpse into a 17th century Dutch home was amazing. Visit my shutterfly account under Amsterdam for a step-by-step tour of the museum.

Being my last day in Amsterdam I biked around the town getting caught in yet another rainstorm. This time I didn't mind, the rain was growing on me and becoming very refreshing; soon I would be back in Italy dying of heat. Tomorrow I fly back to Italy and make my way to yet another city. It has been a great 2 weeks in Amsterdam. Having a place to stay and living amongst the locals was just what I needed to refresh myself for the last part of my trip. I must say I was getting a little worn down, but now thanks to Anders and his wonderful hospitality I am ready to go again, actually ready for my father to join me soon! That will be an amazing story to tell, stay tuned!!
