Hello all,
We are in Brazil!!!......where it is nuts.
Beautiful & hot with long lazy days & a Brazilian way of doing things, ie slower.
We got here late after Iberia (never ever,ever,ever, fly with them!!!) stuffed us about so we had to sleep in the airport at Madrid, not happy campers.
Anyway we are in the sun again for a warm xmas (tomorrow) as we are heading to a small island off the coast Liha Grande for a few days of R&R.
Should be great.
So far we have been complete tourists in Rio with a visit to the Christ on the hill with a stunning view over the city.

 This place is somewhere of complete contrasts with the fevolas (sp), slums, which you pass on the way into the city on the north side with the mega wealthy of Rio along the beaches on the south side.
We stayed in the Copacabana (which there is a very famous song of) for the time we have been here, on one of the worlds most famous beaches.
It is packed too.
Anyway we are enjoying the start of our South American experience which is hot & humid but should be great!!
Felix Natal to everyone (as they say here) which is Merry Xmas & we shall be in touch after spending some time on the beach & snorkelling!!
