Hey, So this Internet cafe thing is going to be expensive. We spent 2 days in thens and saw all the sights. It was so impressive to see the original architecture. Its funny to see the basis for the architecture styles in the Acropolis etc... how is it possible to get it right (building wise) so long ago.

Funny thing I saw the other day. We were searching through post cards and I came across a post card of a donkey reading a sign when I realized that it is the same one that I carried across from Australia from Ice-Cream-Mountain and I guess it was originally from Santorini.

Here's the low down on Thins interesting little Island. It was created by a volcano and since there are very few opportunities for me to walk on a volcano, Em and I took a ride across to the Caldera and walked around on the crater. There was smoke and the ground was really hot in some places (95 degrees) and it reeked of Sulpher. From there we were taken to a "hot springs". I am assuming that it would be hot in the summer months but it was only a little over 30 degrees at this time. The water was a rust/yellow color that you couldn't see thru and it stained my skin and my bathing suit top (I am still wringing out a redish colour from it). We got back and rode a donkey (yes you heard me... the chick who is terrified of horses, rode a donkey) up the cliff side to the top. I lucked out (hee hee sarcasm) and got a lager horse sized donkey who like to race. He raced with this Australian girl's donkey up the cliff. The worst part was when my stupid ass tripped and fell down and i knocked my bare knee on the mountain side. Suffice it to say that this experience has further soured my opinion of riding an animal and in about 30 years I will be ready to try it again.

One of my favourite things here is the food. Remind me next summer that I have to go to the taste of the Danforth... so much olive oil and gyros. Its great to eat salad again that isn't based on cabbage. I am staying away from the heavy foods and am having a Greek salad every day (the feta is phenomenal).
