      Only 3 days until finals are over, and only 6 days until the journey starts. I'm getting all my final details prepared for the trip. Ali has everything set up for our visit back, and he's got some fun stuff planned for us that tourist normally wouldn't get to do. But for now I am stuck in the freezing cold of NY state, and enjoying the only Christmas spirit I'll have this year with our room decorations. More to come in the following days.

Woo-HOO!
And he's.... (soon to be) OFF! Needless to say this self-professed, fatally addicted wanderlust Aunty is both proud and excited to follow your route to Dubai(?) (do hop off the plane to see a few of the sights on your layover, yes?) and then on to those 26 precious tropical gems plopped in the middle of nowher... err, the Indian Ocean! ;)

That you have a good chum to show you around will no doubt make it a most FANTASTIC and memorable visit, and I'll be keenly watching here for your pics and travel blather.

Meanwhile, in less than 3 weeks I'll be heading over the International Dateline too. Just a tad due east of the Maldives, to Bali for a bit of fun in the sun (and yup, no doubt some geocaching while I'm at it!)

Which reminds me... HOLY SMOKES Jason - I just checked geocaching.com and... there's no less than **7** geocaches in the Maldives!!! I hear you now have a GPSr - surely you'll want to go after at least a few:

Getting ready to leave
I did check them out, but I found none on the Islands I will be visiting. I'll have to leave some of my own then. I'll try to hit up some of them in Dubai for my 23 hour layover!
