Time is marching along and as in most cases, the pace seems much quicker the closer we get to departure day -- October 12, 2005. It seems to me that many of the travelogues we've read in preparation for our RTW trip, have very little information about preparing to go. Although it may be boring for some, we wanted to make sure we included periodic entries from our final months prior to departure. If you'd prefer to get right to the good stuff - the trip -- feel free to skip the Brooklyn entries.

This trip has rumbled around in our minds since traveling to Malaysia in May of 2001. We both loved the country and enjoyed that feeling of being "foreign" or a minority in a culture where there was so much to learn. We came back and agreed to explore the option of working internationally within our professions. Well, one thing didn't lead to another so we reevaluated our options in 2003 and decided to take six months off.

Our route as of now is Japan>Hong Kong>Bangkok>Chaing Mai>Vietnam>Cambodia>Thailand (Koh Samui and Koh Tao)>Malaysia>Singapore>India>Dubai>Jordan>Egypt>Turkey.

We'll make sure to include preparation details in future entries.
