If you got an email saying that I've updated my travel blog it's beacuse you somehow mentioned to me that you wanted to keep in touch while I'm in Lesotho. If you'd rather not get those emails just let me know... prefferably before Monday when I leave for the corps :-) It's my understanding that replying to that notification email will send an email directly to my gmail account. I figured this blog site would be a good way to share general information and pictures with a larger group of people and then of course I will still be using my regular email for any further contact :-)
For my last few weeks in the US I decided to visit some of my favorite people, in some of my favorite places at my favorite time of year. Ithaca in the spring is, as the t-shirts claim, gorgeous. The brilliant green of the new leaves, pinks and purples of new buds, and warming sun bring an excitement that I think only comes after having been blanketed by the greys of winter for what always seems like an eternity
Although this spring has been somewhat cooler than most, we all did our fair share of grass sitting, dog walking, and porch drinking; along with a three day adirondack vacation. The best news is that my puppy dog still loves me and also that I know he has a loving home for my lengthy stay in Lesotho. THANK YOU MIKE!!! Hopefully we can work out a friendly custody arrangement when I get back.
In closing of my last US-based entry I just want to say thank you to all my friends and family. As someone smart said once, "its not the destination, its the journey" that counts. For everyone that has been a part of my journey so far, I hope the next two years treat you well and I'll see ya in 2010!
Wishing you peace and love

An afternoon at CTB
. If you're on the look out, you might even get a smile, nod and hello from one of the stone-cold city-people that suffer through the country landscape in the name of a "good education."Although this spring has been somewhat cooler than most, we all did our fair share of grass sitting, dog walking, and porch drinking; along with a three day adirondack vacation. Ohhh
That is nice to have a chance to visit friends before leaving on a long trip. I'm also glad your puppy has a place to stay while you are gone.
