Mar del Plata and the Atlantic Ocean

Saturday morning we checked out of our apartment and hopped on a bus headed for Mar del Plata, a large coastal city very popular during the summer months. The bus ride lasted about 5 hours and was quite comfortable as we ended up with "cama" seats which are wide and recline back. Our main objective in visiting Mar del Plata was to go swimming so we spent most of Sunday on the beach and in the water. Our palettes had been craving seafood and that was easily found, so we enjoyed several nice meals. It was a relaxing few days, the city was not terribly crowded as summer is just ending, and it has a great beach feel to it. It would be easy to spend a few weeks here and become beach bums, unfortunately we have other places to visit so that won´t happen just yet (although I hope it may happen at some point in our travels). We´re off to Puerto Madryn to see some penguins and enjoy our last stop on the Atlantic Coast.
