Where I stayed

I had planned to try out a new hostel that according to craig of travelvice was a lot cheaper, however when I phoned them they quoted some $26 plus tax.. When I reached south beach I thought I'd go back to where I know the staff and rooms that have lockers.. It was a good choice as as I was skating up to the entrance I was welcomed by tom. At check in I was also greeted by the guy who works there who skates on the old school decks and we got chatting to see how to get to some concrete west palm beach skate park.. Anyway the price had come down since last time I was here to $25usd..

Unknown to me until the Friday when I was frequently seeing a whole heap of women walikng around town in bikinis and stilletos and pimped out whips passing by that this weekend was black spring break weekend.. I knew about a "best of the best concert" on the Sunday before I'd left Jamaica and planned to go but the other big nights which had some big names of rap and an extortionate cover charge didn't really please me nor did I meet up with anyone in the hostel that may had been good fun so never ventured out to any clubs.

On the Sunday the reggae best of the best concert was pretty crappy, I got there at about 3pm and stayed till just after 10pm.. A few of the early stars like Etana, Serani, Bugle and Assasin seemed just to just be passing through, and Tarrus Riley bored me.. After Mavado made a video appearance apologizing for not coming I was ready to go, I was gonna wait for Sizzla but after bounty killer, mavado and beenie man were no shows I didn't want to wait around to see if he was one too..

The Monday was a memorial holiday for the US fallen soldiers and I made my way out to a great little Miami suburb called coconut grove to skateboard at peacock park.. It is a great little spot that had been built on the space of two old tennis courts.. It costs 10usd and you have to wear a helmet. Apart from the worried parents watching their sons hurt themselves I was the oldest one there, I had a great time and was practising a shitload of tricks and by the end of the day was tired and cut up to shreds but totally satisfied.

The next day I checked out in the morning to catch my flight to San pedro sula in Honduras.
