I feel bad now about saying jamiacans and working in airports don't mix.. the air jamaica check-in in miami was sweet, they even printed out an itinary on an airplane ticket for me to get passed immigration without paying anything, i explained to them i needed a refundable ticket to london, i had a voucher covering half but told them i'm gonna cancel it anyway and go to cuba.. so she told me she'd print the reservation now and i was to pay in jamaica.. perfect!.. so coming into immigration at the mobay airport i was ready for another interigation, i slipped the itenary into my passport along with the immigration form to make it look like a ticket home, the girl saw it and handed it back to me assuming it was valid, asked a couple of standard questions and i was free to go.. sorted.. my bag was there for me this time and customs just wanted to know if i had brought any presents for any jamaicans.. err no, sorry i'm tight..

outside the airport i was met with a shitload of taxi drivers offering their services for a ride into town, i knew i was gonna walk 100metres for the J$50 taxi but thought i'd humour the hustlers to see what the highest inflated charter price was.. it turned out to be $25 us which is J$1650.. this brings me to the jamaican dollar, it's losing value quickly, when i first came it was about 67J's to the dollar it's now over 72.. this is all good for me especially when the us dollar is dying against the pound..

So i skipped mobay and headed for a weekend getting tanked up with old friends, but come monday i had to head to kingston to sort some stuff out. whilst i was there i took time to check out downtown and the national gallery. i was quite impressed with the gallery and spent far too long wondering around it as my plan to explore more of downtown ran out of time.. I had wanted to get a couple of drinks in this bar which i spotted from the downtown bus station, it is about hundred metres into the tivoli estate (garrison in JA) which i believe 98% of jamiacans wouldn't want to go near, i think i'll get away without a bullet in the head by avoiding any "informer" conversations and just staying for a couple of red stripes to meet "real jamaicans".. i'll leave my camera at home for this though i think..

on the internet i booked my ticket from havana to cancun for the 27th of nov, which leaves me a month of cuba minus any extra days that i stay on in jamiaca. My plan for the next week is to see some out of the way towns such as oracabessa, discovery bay, falmouth, sav la mar and spanish town.. i know i've spent way too long in jamaica but i feel quite at home here, i have made a lot of friends and don't want to lose everything and start all over again which is the shitty side of travelling.
