The flight over to Sint Maarten was pretty weird, i have no problem with these tiny propeller planes now but as we approached the island i could see into the cockpit an old guy with the trademark alcoholic red cheecks flying the plane, and i noticed we'd started banking in circles around and around, i was thinking, shit either one of those flaps are stuck or this guy is contemplating suicide.. after about 15 minutes of seeing the island of statia, saba st.barts and st. martin go passed my window several times the co-pilot anounced that it was pretty busy at juliana airport so we'd be put on hold. Juliana airport is the famous one that the 747 planes come in nearly touching the beach goers as it lands.. i recorded a little movie from my window of the cheering drunks below us that i'll post one day..

anyway i'm at a 25us dollar crew house

which is only ment for people working on yachts similar to the pineapple house in antigua, but they let me stay as it's coming to the end of the season and there is a spare bunk bed, last night was pretty quiet for me as having a long day travelling so didn't go out but met a lot of cool people here and will no doubt be going out drinking for the next 6 nights that i'm on this party island..

The island is quite americanised, i wasn't expecting people weaing clogs or anything but hoping that maybe there would be some dutch things left but no, every sign is written in english, apart from the welcome sign at the airport.. the cars are mainly big american suv's and most guys think they are in a mtv base video.. it's also been touted as a big crime hot spot, i've heard this so many times nearly every place i've been too.. my motto is, if you walk like a victim you are a victim.. i've done alright so far in the apparent dodgy towns so not too bothered with the scare storis i've heard..
