well i'm currently on a break from my PADI open water course than i've finally managed to do, it's down with a new dive outfit called green monkey, the guy troy who runs has been picking up in his jeep without doors to bring to the dive shop in the mornings, it needs a new fuel pump so embarrasingly cuts out whenever we tried to attempt a hill. My diving instructor is a guy from dominica called Ned.. he real patient with me when i'm at the bottom of the sea floor and haven't a clue what the hand signals he is telling me mean and always forgeting to blow out bubbles without the respirator on.. the reason for my lack of knowlege is that the last 3 nights where i've been ment to be working through my book i've decided that it's too boring and ended up in the 'volcano view bar' with my mates willy, sonny and joe till late and by the time i get back to the hostel i've been to canned to get back into the book. just before the dive i quickly read through the summaries and try to blag it when i'm 15 metres under the water..

Paddies day was a great laugh, the lonely hostel i've been staying in was looking pretty grim due to lack of other travellers but luckily an irish couple checked in and i was talked into going and starting the session at midday, the night went so quick, drinking way too much and forgetting to eat anything all day due whilst watching the pakistan ireland game and fending off the old 'black and tan' comments i seem to get most paddies days..

for the first weeek i had the pleasure of staying with a vulcanologist who is working up at the montserrat volcano observatory, she happily answered any questions to do with volcanoes with much enthusiasm but you would be met with a little coldness if someone asked her "so, when is the volcano gonna blow up then?".. she obviousley doesn't know, but i was told if she did it is 'top secret' anyway.. the town i'm currently in is in high alert as the dome is so big, all the residents are waiting for a meeting to be held by the 'scientific advisory commity' (pretty cool name) to see if the zone will be extended, Leah, who is pretty crazy (she has to be, she studies volcanos and comes from cornwall) creates a lot of laughs but suddenly left yesterday after a finishing her days work to probably live in a safer area, with clues like that i think it's good i'm leaving this saturday to give the much disliked Antigua a fair try.
