Everyone flew back to Quito knowing they had experienced something special the past week. I very much doubt the people who really connected with the islands really wanted to leave, both Kash , Tabitha, Russell and myself would have all gladly taken a crew cabin if it meant we could have re-lived these seven days - damn i would have slept in a Zodiac!!
After check-in to the Marriott we had the opportunity to do some souvenir shopping in a market, but as we were both shot and weren't flying until late the following day we decided to give it a miss. Everyone else except a few stragglers were flying out quite early on the morning of the 15th .
Tremendous Pool, and all to myself!
We spent the remainder of our time and our final mouthwateringly beautiful meal with Tabitha and Russell. There was no hiding the fact we were all gutted to be leaving and really didn't want this to end. After a quiet beer in the bar we said a fond farewell to our newest friends and hit the sack, a touch disappointed we hadn't seen Mark and Gail at dinner to wish them well too.
The following morning i made it downstairs around 4 am to see off Tabitha, Russell, Mark and Gail - glad i did and hope its not the last time we see any of these guys.
The remainder of the day was fairly uneventful - still had wobbly legs like we were on the boat though!! We made the most of the hotels facilities including the enormous heated outdoor pool and spa then went on our way late afternoon.
