The day started early at 5am, for the long drine to Agnes
Water,to meet Aaron and Aimee.

With an early departure of 5.30 am we headed north along the
motorway with a 110 km/hr speed limit. We appreciated the smooth roads here,a
nice change from the bumpy roads of Christchurch!!

The white whale was filled with petrol ($1.45 per litre),and
as we had spare time we checked out  its
specs from the hand book. As it’s a petrol engine model it has either the 1.9
litre engine or 2.5 liter. We are pretty sure it has the larger 4 cyl motor as
it will perform well if given a full throttle, however it  or less throttle it just borkes  down, with the load and dosen’t do very much
but a complaining vibrating burr from the motor department. We pondered how
such a machine could be an up  grade from
an xr6?? Especially as it is at the Nissan dealers for $29 grand brand new!!The
mind boggles, trying to find a soloution to that one!!

Well we stopped a few times for refreshments and even
spotted our first sighting of a coevette! It was a bright yelloew1974, practically
glowing in the bright sun light! Sorry no pic !!

We amused ourselves with a pic of our Gin CD at Gin GIN
,LOL! Plenty of gin here but a little short on toilet paper we soon discovered!
We had plenty of day jar voo moments as we encountered land marks and towns we
had driven past before. We are sure at Tiaro they even had the same caravan for
sale as 2 years ago, however the 2 kombis had gone! Another  place was using an old VW bus as a sign board
for there resturaunt business!!

Around 11 oclock am we arrived ,and met Aaron and Aimee( for
the first time). She is nearly 2 now and as cute as a button!! Looks like Aaron
when he was younger, and also Melissa and Albie as well! So a strong family resemblance
for sure. You can see her golden curly locks of hair in the pics. Another
Lawrence gene I suspect from her grand father, no doubt.

We had a leisurely morning tea at a fabulous  coffee house by the calm beach of 1770,a twin
town to Agnes water, just down the road, with a pleasant water front location.
Where we gave her an early easter present of an my little pony. This clearly
made her day, as she soon was feeding it some of her toast and brushing its rainbow

We soon headed off to the calm beach close by ,much to
Amiees anticipated pleasure, where she she was quick to paddle in the shallows, running
in and out, chasing seagulls, or running in between her adoring and father and
these two new comers!! One thing was for sure, she could keep this going for
some time as she loved the cooler water and all the attention she was receiving
as well! We snapped many pic as she ran through the shallows ,as we admired her
happy nature. Not quite sure who was having the most fun,but one thing for
sure, Aimee is the wettest of us all!

After a while she was getting tired so we had to finish up
for her afternoon nap. So good to see Aaron and his daughter happily playing in
the water.

Our 3 hours together totally made our trip worth while, it
was geat to see Aaron and his baby girl,so happy!!

Sadly time for our return journey, which was a little slower
due to Sunday afternoon traffic. However we were back at Alex heads at 7pm
having completed as near as makes no difference,900km today! Surprisingly one
only fuel stop early on got us there and back,All I know is we achieved more
than the trip computers 620 km  estimated
range,on the tank.Still have 50 km of range left too!  So I cant claim any ridiculous range on the
tank, but it would have to be in excess of 700km  for sure. Not bad for a borking, petrol
engine!! Lol!!
