Some things you just have to
learn ths hard way!
W is the longest way from point A
to point B!!
Our journey to Eumundi ,
pronounced Umundi ( BTW), started out
well, for the first 100 meters then I declared I had left the map behind! Unfortunately
we decided to carry on, as it turned out. Fortunately time was on our side ,so
we went the long way back to Nambour
(KFC lunch stop from yesterday).Just to
make sure we were heading the right direction we stopped and asked for
directions, as no signage for Eumundi
Yaroomba. Then it’s signed from there.
We didn’t realize it was like a
half hour drive to there. Clearly we were still far from Emundi. So not to
waste any more time I asked at a dairy. She said to go to Yandina, and follow
the signs from there. @ 30 mins later still no Eumundi signage!
As we were very close to the
ginger factory we visited yesterday, we thought of calling in there as they
have an information centre. Sure enough we just hadn’t been close enough to
pick up the signage, and once pointed in the right direction,we found it ,no
problems! A half hour journey had just taken two hours!! Talk about a bid W
Fortunately our luck changed as
we found a park right outside the markets (no easy task)!! To erase the
emotional scaring a quick coffee cured us!! Then we set upon the stalls.
A lot of stalls the same as 2
years ago,but still interesting enough.we soon had some lunch, calamari for me
and chicken kebabs for Annemieke! Really
didn’t buy much there ,however still interesting.
Well on the way there not far
from base we saw a mystery car,but to slow to photo it . I said to A we should
have got that one as it’s an early ----------- (sensored).
We managed to retrace our zig
zaging around Maroochydore and there it was , still in the same place!
you enjoy the challenge! It’s the white car btw.
Thing is its only 1 oclock,so we
decided to go to cotton tree on the way home ,a neighbouring beach. Had a coffee and brought some tea bags
as we have run out. There seems to be no room service, however when you
consider what we paid , it is hardly expected!
When garaging the white whale we
were shocked to receive a compliment on our white whale!! Another guest had
noticed our white couch and said nice car!! LMAO, I was just about to ask if he
wanted to swap, realizing his ride is a Nissan x trail!! Only in grey, obviously
a grey whale!! Instead I held back my laughter and said thanks, we smirked our way back to the unit. Where
another surprise awaited us
We were totally surprised to find
that after 5 days room service had paid us a visit. We agreed that slavery
can’t be a bad thing as we admired our fresh
sheets ,restocked our tea bags
and a good refresh up of our room. So plenty of time to pay our local beach a
visit, check out kombi no11, and lounge/swim at our 150 m swimming pool. However
the pool temperature has dropped from the storm no doubt.
A couple of interesting things
1/ dam ants are every where, and
the can bite you as well!! Anoying ants
we call them. If you stay on your towel your safe, but as soon as a limb or a
digit escapes over the edge your fair game as far as the ant hill mob are
2 A bush turkey is living in the
gardens of the resort, like he owns the place ,lol. Often seen strolling the
pathways, looking for food!!
Oh well off to get some fish and
chips to eat on the beach!! So missing home !! LOL!!
PS- F&C great by the beach
but netter at home.Chatted t the F&S shop lady- she was from Nelson. We’ve
noticed when people ask you where you are from and you reply Chch NZ, they all
go Oh dear….
