Apparently the party in the bar at the Hotel Ugly really got going after 1am, cause Joe heard people partying their way down the hallway at 4am.  Everyone was up at 7am as usual and we packed up but left everything in the rooms while we went down the street for breakfast.  As we walked through to the lobby, Joe noticed that there was a guy sitting at the bar having a beer...only in Quebec!  We went to a place called Eggspectations, which is a lot like Cora's only we think the food was better.  Afterwards, we went back to the rooms to get our gear onto the bikes and after our morning duties were done, we hit the road.

Today we didn't have very far to travel to get to Kathie's (Dave's sister) place, so we only took the Autoroute for an hour and then peeled off to the north-west before getting to Montreal towards Candiac.  We travelled a highway that followed the south shore of the St Lawrence for a while then crossed the tributaries through a tunnel and a series of bridges.  It was a great day for riding, nice and sunny and somewhat cooler than normal at around 20C.  Being a Saturday, there were lots of bikers out, especially along this roadway.  At one intersection, we were waiting for the light to change and we were stopped beside 3 bikers, one being female.  They took off in front of us and the one in the rear was weaving back and forth all over the place between the two lanes.  At one point he pulled around and then beside the woman without signalling or warning...she didn't see him until the last minute and managed to swerve out of his way...crazy.

We stopped at a roadside vendor that was all set up for Motorcyclists including a separate parking area with plates on the ground to keep kickstands from sinking into the asphalt...it even had a seating area for bikers.  We had a short break and then continued our way.  Once on the north side of the St Lawrence, we took the 401 west for about 25km and then went north on back highways all the way to Kathie's place.  We made a quick stop at an LCBO for supplies and were at Kathie's by 4pm.  About 1km away from the place, we were going along backroads and a female deer leaped out in front of me from the bush line to the left.  I braked hard and managed to stop in time and was starting to take off when Bambi came across racing after his mother.  It was the first and only deer or moose encounter this trip.  Good thing we were on back roads and not going that fast.

Once we arrived we immediately started to get what little we needed off the bikes and sat out on the deck vegging.  We ate, we drank, we made big fire, we had fun...we also stayed up way too late.

Oh My!
So pleased you were all able to stop to visit the "Zoo Crew" in North Gower!
Kathie and Steve are most wonderful hosts - and an amazing place to be... We have a hard time leaving each time we visit: 4 wheeling, horses, dogs, new puppies (Madame Louise has 2 new husky litters!), food, drink, excellent company!
