We got up late and packed all our stuff up into the car. It was sad to say good bye, but good to be moving on to do something else. We headed over to Redwood Road where Sally & Bob Livingstone live. They are friends of Chris, the guy that we're going to stay with for 3 nights on the 7th. They have this lovely house that was built in 1860 and restored it, they are rebuilding the stables at the moment. The house is a guest house and you can stay there for $250 per night.

We had a lovely chat with Sally who showed us around the grounds and the outside of the house and she asked us to let her know if we ever got back this way. From there we drove further up Redwood Road to Rabit Island. This is lovely it had big, almost secluded, well maintained, tidy picnic areas and at the end was a really nice beach. It's even locked up at night.

From there we drove up SH60 to Golden Bay. Once again we were treated to steep, windy roads and stunning views. The downside to these roads is that my fear of heights kicks in when we're on the left hand side of the hills as I'm nearest a huge drop, it's heart in mouth stuff sometimes! We stayed at Pohara, in another Top 10 campsite. Just over the road is a mini golf course! So we dashed over for a game before it closed, I won! Woo hoo. It was a nice little course.

Instead of using the kitchen, we made dinner at the picnic bench next to our tent on the camping stove, then I did some more blogging whilst Robert played his PSP.
