Our first night in the tent was surprisingly good, although we had borrowed a blow up air bed from Sarah and Alan but it was a little too big for the tent and we were worried that it might cause some damage.  We'll see how it goes, we may have to buy a smaller one.

We managed to not take too long to pack everything away, 'm sure we'll get slicker at it as we get used to a routine.  We set off, but not for long as we stopped off at Whangarei Falls.  We were a little uncomfortable leaving the car in the carpark fully loaded with all our gear, but didn't have a choice if we are to see anything on this trip.

It was actually quite pretty and the bit of rain we'd had made it a bit more interesting.  We took the short walk option over the top of the falls to a viewing point on the opposite side then walked down to the base of the falls, you can walk right up to the pool here it isn't fenced off, which was really nice.  We watched a man training his dog to find his little daughter, it was great he sent her off (not too far) to hide and then sent the dog to find her. Then walked back up the hill to the car.

Thankfully the car was still there and intact when we got back.
