We spent the day wandering around the town. Its lovely all the streets look the same and the buildings are non-descript from the outside, howeve, poke your head around any of the the open doorways and you would be met with an amazing aray of shops, bars, restaurants and other businesses. We checked out a great art gallery, it had loads of work by local artists and it was nice to see something different.
We went to the bank who refused to give us cah against my Visa (how rude!) it was Sunday so only choice was to go to an ATM. We managed to buy some replacement bits
After a bit more wandering we found Reilly's Irish Bar (with a real irish man behind the bar). I sampled some of the tequilla's, whilst Robert tried the local beers. Eventually we headed back to the hotel and met the people we would be travelling with for the next 2 and a bit weeks (some of them for the full 30 days). We all went for dinner together.
I said I'd get up and meet Ammie at 5am to try and buy some bread for sandwiches....
(We are still feeling a little raw from the theft and avoid crowds and clutch our belongings very tightly. Hopefully soon we will begin to relax a little).
I successfully meet Ammie at 5 am, however we don't manage to find a bakery open! never mind. We get on the mini-bus at 6am and head off to Copan, Honduras. The seats were really squashed up, very uncomfortable!
I guess Guatemala was a bit of a flying visit, which was a shame but I really liked Antigua.
