Regina - 21st to 22nd July 2007
After a rather uncomfortable night on the greyhound we arrived in Regina about 6am.  The hostel opens at 7 so we (me, Rob, Sula and Corrine) walked there and arrived about 6.30am. The weather was rather nice, even that early and we sat on the porch until 7.  We were in separate dorms for the night and I was in the same room as Sula and Corinne.  Downstairs Mika found me!  She had come the day before; it was really good to see her.  We all went to a coffee shop that we were told should be open this early and had brekkie.  Then back to the hostel, Corinne went to bed, Mika packed (she was moving on this evening) Rob wanted to chill out a bit before setting out for the day, so we watched a movie in the common room, then it started to rain.... And rain... we watched another thundered....we watched another movie.  It stopped raining, we all went to the supermarket and bought food to make a big chicken pasta and salad
It was really nice to all prepare a meal and eat together and there was enough for dinner tomorrow for all of us too.. Bargain at 5 quid each.  Then it was time doe Mika to go for her bus... we promised to visit her in Japan when we get that way (so now we have a good excuse to go there!).
Afterwards, everyone just cabbaged around and watched more movies, then yeah!, Philip and Kim arrived;  I thought we'd miss each other in Regina.  They went out for dinner; we'd eaten and just wanted to cabbage then go to bed.  It had turned into a really lazy day, but it was good to see Kim and Phil again.
Morning got up and checked out of room by 11am, left bags locked up.  We went for a walk around the city but most places are closed as it's Sunday!  Just when I was despairing I saw a bug-fest!   Rob was well chuffed and grinned his little head off for the next hour and half whilst we tried to decide which Volkswagen was the best.  There were some really nice beetles and one that you could paint on, so we did.  It is so hot today I could just jump in a nice cool pool!
We later we found a mall that was open and went looking for Harry Potter.  The last book came out yesterday and I needed it.  However it was sold out everywhere!  I bought some Spanish CD's.  I'm going to try and learn some before we get to central and South America (it has the pronunciations for the area on it).
We went back to the hostel (they close up between 3 and 5pm) and realized that the code for the door had changed and we couldn't get in.  As we were contemplating knock on the doors incase anyone was in, Kim, Phil, Sual and Corrine came back from the shops.  Great they cold let us we're all banging on the various doors around the building hoping someone will let us in.  Phil was successful and we gratefully piled into the kitchen, we heated up last night's chicken pasta and ate tea.  I needed to download the first Spanish CD to my MP3 player so Rob went with the others to the park for a walk.  When they got back they were all excited because they had found an outdoor swimming pool that was free from 7pm.  Unfortunately we couldn't go so we said our goodbyes.  We will be seeing Corinne, Phil and Kim tomorrow in Calgary, but Sula was off to work so this was good bye (good luck Sula, hope it goes well).
There were a couple of French girls, Marie and Elody (sorry if I've spelt it wrong) going to the station at the same time as us, so we all walked together.  It was sooo hot!
See you in Calgary.
