Well, the countdown has begun in earnest now... after months of talking about it to each other, then talking to other people about it, then talking to various travel agents about it, we are now fully vaccinated (you all know how much I hate needles!), we have insurance, RTW (round the world) plane tickets, have just over a week left at work and the landlord has been given notice  However we are still trying to sell / give away all our stuff (car boot this Sunday), get all the address changes done and surf the net for places to see, stay and how to travel overland to it all.  To say we're both getting a little overwhelmed is an understement!

For those who have not yet already been bored by our travel plans, our first destination is, wait for it....... Brighton! exotic eh.  We're staying with some strange couple (Cathe & Kelvin).  they've been kind enough to put up with us for the first day and half then take us to Heathrow Airport at some silly hour (we think they just want to make sure we leave!).  We travel from Leeds to London, then London to Brighton on the Mega Bus.  For the unintiated this is a fab bus service.  When I first looked at the fares they were 1 (yes that's 1) per stage, we thought 2 each was more than fair, however by the time we were ready to purchase our tickets, I was shocked, ney disgusted to find the price had gone up to a total of 7.50 each !! (If you're going to follow this blog you'll have to understand sarcasam!). You can't go wrong really.... will let you know how it goes.
