Mark left work early on Friday and we drove down to Brighton which is on the shore due south of London for an overnight. We booked a B&B for the night so we could do the clubs Friday and the beach on Saturday. Brighton was having their 106th annual Speed Trials (drag races) which were a blast to watch. Some really great classic British cars. Also on display was the worlds largest Sand Sculpture display. Friday evening we walked on the Brighton Pier with is a combination amusement park, casino and typical beach entertainment complex. Had dinner at a Thai restaurant and then did the clubs/pubs until the wee hours of the morning.

A bit of a late start Saturday morning since we did the pubs and clubs on Friday night. We missed our B&B breakfast so grabbed a light breakfast on a sidewalk cafe before heading over to see the speed trials. We continued walking the cliff trail for a couple miles viewing the sand sculptures (which were amazing) along the way. Eventually, the walk, which runs between the cliffs and the Atlantic Ocean, opened up to a small beach area where we were able to swim and lay out in the sun for a couple hours. I did not know they had topless beaches in he south on England :-)

We had dinner at a restaurant with an outside porch overlooking the ocean and then headed back to London around 7PM since Mark had an early am flight to Turin, Italy.
