As we are
already leaving in 26 days we could only spend 2 weeks in Uruguay. Other travelers
have told us about Uruguays beauty so we decided to take a look. It is supposed
to be one of the secret spots in South America.

Coming from
Buenos Aires we took the ferry to Colonia de Sacramento; a historic city, which
is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its cobblestone streets, ancient houses, old
cars and cozy little cafes made us go back in time. So astonished by its beauty,
OVI (Paula’s new cellphone) decided to escape from Paula’s pocket and take a
dive into the Atlantic ocean. The old one decided it liked the taxi in
Cochabamba more than Paula’s pocket.

Next stop
was the capital city Montevideo. It was nothing compared to Buenos Aires, but still
we dropped by for one day. As it was a Sunday there was  not much to see, so the next day we left to
Punta del Diablo. Here we camped for one week, which was both fun and an
adventure. We were tested in our tent-saving skills when two nights it stormed
like crazy. In the pouring rain and the middle of the night we were running
around the tent, digging trenches to save our tent from floating away. Other
than those two nights we spend a very chilled week at the beach and in a small
surf/fishing village. Punta del Diablo was the ideal place for us; lots of nice
beaches, nice people, chilled atmosphere and we definitely recommend anyone to
come here. Plus, we got driven to the beach in a 60 year old Coca Cola van and
we found the Milka Kuh!

To get to
Brazil we had to get to Punta del Este, the “Ibiza” of Uruguay, which was in
total contrary to Punta del Diablo and didn’t impress us. But it had good ice
cream and we ended up going to the cinema.

in Brasilien, unser letztes Land! Bis in 27 Tagen!
