Another year, another Canadian Thanksgiving in Norway. This year it was much easier to prepare the dinner as I knew which stores to go to for ingredients.
It was my first time cooking a turkey and I was surprised at how much bigger a turkey is than the chickens I usually cook. There wasn't much choice for turkey in Stavanger...so I ended up cooking a 15 lb bird for 5 people!
The turkey was too large for any of the pans I have in the apartment, so I had to use a broilder pan and a special Oven Roasting bag (thanks Becki!)
It was fun preparing the meal of turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, peas & carrots, and gravy. However, it did get a little hectic at the end when I had to take the turkey out of the oven, mash the potatoes, and make gravy and then I forgot to heat the rest of the stuffing in the oven. Everything did turn out and we had a delicious meal.
