After reading about the Brijuni Islands and discovering that the hotel price was reasonable, we decided to spend a night on the island.

In former days, the Brijuni islands were the private retreat for Tito and his guests. Now the islands are a national park. There is lots to see on the island... a byzantine fortress, roman ruins, safari park, gothic church, and Tito on Brijuni exhibition.

If you are visiting the island on a day trip, you have to go on a guided tour. However, since we were staying on the island we were allowed free roam and opted to explore the island by golf cart. It was an amazingly fun way to see the island and make the people on the tours jealous
