The big plan for today was to head to L-town (Ljubljana, Slovenia). Our plans were spoiled by a severe lack of taxis in Fazana and a very late bus. The bus was so late that we missed the train from Pula to Ljubljana.
After missing the train, we decided to take a bus to Rovinj and find a hotel once we got there. However, being in Rovinj did not make it much easier to find a hotel for one night. The boys decided that we should splurge and stay at a resort hotel a short distance from the centre.
Rovinj is a port city and is a pleasant mix between resort city and Ventian-style medieval town. There are lots of piazzas and narrow, cobblestone streets. We did our usual exploring the city by foot and then visited the St. Euphemia's Church including a climb to the top of the tower on very steep, uneven wooden stairs.
After a so-so dinner, we had a few drinks and then decided to head back to the hotel to check out the evening entertainment. Even though we were the youngest guests by far in the hotel, we managed to have a very fun evening of dancing, card games and drinking. In fact I think we did a little too much drinking. I think that most of the other hotel guests thought that we had escaped from our parents' rooms!
At least we got a massive buffet breakfast in the morning to make up for how terrible we were feeling.
