Yesterday we arrived in Tallinn on the fast boat from Helsinki. After checking into the hotel, we wandered into the old town. The old town in Tallinn is beautiful with lots of winding cobble stone streets and old buildings.
In Tallinn there were tourists everywhere and it seemed like there were restaurants and bars catering to tourists everywhere as well. Last night after exploring the city we went to one of the tourist trap restaurants...a medieval dinner. The food was okay but the honey beer I tried was so sweet that I couldn't even finish it.
Today we visited lots of different sights in Tallinn. First we visited the Kiek in de Kok tower that highlights some of the history of the city. Following that we toured the tunnels below the city...the tour was in Estonian but it was still worth it to see the tunnels. One of the more interesting visits was to the Museum of Occupation. The museum provides an excellent overview of the occupation of the city in recent times by both Germany and Russia.
Tonight we take the fast boat back to Helsinki...
