This past weekend I went to Prague with two girls from work. The weather wasn't the greatest...it seems to rain everywhere I go lately! It was really annoying rain because it only seemed to rain between noon and six, which was when we were out exploring the city! The mornings were sunny and the evenings were nice and dry.
Despite the rain, on Friday we did still manage to see lots of the sights in Prague on foot...Prague Castle, Charles Bridge, Old Town, New Town. We also spent lots of time in the Jewish Quarters visiting the museums and synagogues. And, we found time for some shopping and beer as well.
We took a train to Kutna Hora the following day and visited the town. It was a wealthy silver mining town in the 14th to 16th century.
In Prague there are lots of opportunities to attend concerts in the evenings at many of the churches and concert halls. We attended a violin concert of Vivaldi's Four Seasons at the St. Nicholas Church.
One of the best things about the trip was the location of our apartment. We were about a one minute walk from the Old Town Square.

The Hradek Mining Museum had a really good tour of the medieval mine shafts complete with white coats and lanterns. It was definitely a good way to stay out of the rain. We also visited the St. Barbara Cathedral and the Church of the Ascension with its strange ossuary decorated with bones. In Prague there are lots of opportunities to attend concerts in the evenings at many of the churches and concert halls.
