Melissa and Loni are visiting Stavanger this week. It is so nice that they were able to come to visit Norway. I really enjoy being able to share some of my experiences in Norway with them - the stores I shop at, the bars we go to, what the movie theatre is like, etc. And, since they are the first of a steady stream of visitors this month, I get to test out some different "Tourist Routes in and Around Stavanger".

Monday started off with a fjord cruise to Pulpit Rock (Preikestolen). The cruise highlighted some of the area history, went past salmon farms, stopped at a waterfall, and gave a very interesting perspective of the Pulpit Rock.

On Tuesday I got to test out a day trip to the Sirdal area with Melissa, Loni, and a friend from Stavanger. The trip consisted of a hike to the Maanafossen waterfall, stop at the avalanche boulders at Gloppedalsura, visit to the candle shop and gallery at Byrkjedalstunet, and a stop at the Gjesdal spinnery and Figgjo porcelain outlet . The weather was great and it was a busy day.
