On our way back from Bergen, we decided to take a different route. Looking at the map it seemed like it would maybe be about a six-hour drive instead of a four-hour drive. However, we were definitely mistaken - ten hours later we arrived back in Stavanger.
Right outside of Bergen we stopped at the Fantoft Stavkirke (stave church). The Stave Churches are found throughout Norway and are originally from the Viking times. The one we stopped at was built around 1150 but it was burned down in 1992 by Satanists, so it was mostly reconstructed.
We continued our way back to Stavanger, driving along Hardangerfjord. On the way back we saw a nice waterfall so we stopped to take some photos. We got back in the car and soon enough there was another, even better waterfall, so once again we stopped to take photos. The drive continued along like this until we were making too many waterfall stops, so the picture stops for waterfalls became drive-by photos of waterfalls!
