We did it!!! We hit our halfway mark! Today, we had skype # 40! It couldn't have been to a lovelier place either! We were able to skype with Sarah's parents who have been vacationing in Negril, Jamaica. I know Sarah was super excited to see her parent. They have been gone for a week now. Of all weeks, this was the perfect week for them to be some place warm. While it is a COLD 35 degrees here in Georgia, it was a balmy 84 degrees in Jamaica. We even were able to see how beautiful and sunny it was there when they turned the camera toward the beach. Although Sarah's parents have not really traveled off of their resort, they said the Jamaicans that work there have been very friendly and life is much more laid back. While English is the language spoken in Jamaica, the native speak a form called Patois which can be rather difficult to understand. This is what is spoken on most Caribbean islands.

We asked about the animals that are commonly found in Jamaica and found out that although Sarah's parents have seen starfish and geckos, they will probably not see any snakes. Mongooses were introduced to the island to exterminate rats, and they have killed of nearly all of the snakes.  As a non-snake lover, this would make me very happy!

It sounds like Sarah's parents are having a delightful vacation. I only wish they would have taken us with them! Thanks for taking time out of your vacation to skype us:)
