We arrived in Carcasonne on Saturday the 17th.  All I could think of is Teddy, Josie and Theo ... and Pete would love this place.  It is filled with little army men in every store!  The castle sits on a hill  with a moat and many buildings inside the walls.  there is no water around the walls however it looks so fascinating!  All I  kept thinking was "what was Madame Carcas like?"  She saved the town and there are so many books and stuff about her!..

Take a look at the pictures and you will see what I mean!

So we started off on the train!  I asked the lady at the information counter how to get to Carcasonne and she just started talking french.. I said - do you speak English?  She said Oui!!  I was excited because I tried to get coffee early this am and the girl had no idea what I was asking for - I said single shot espresso with lots of water  - it took far to  long to actually get it and the girl next to me in line had to translate.  So outside of Paris you really needed to know some of the words..

We took a shuttle to the train and asked the guy  -- but he just looked at us like we were not too smart and we just laughed and said Carcasonne.. I said "toilette???  he said - "oh no!  You do toilette on the train!"  hmmm,,  the train was great - we passed so many fields of sun flowers!  I wonder why they have so many!!
