So today has been the most frustrating day I have had in a long time.  However, I have not yet really got upset...just tired and wondering when I'll get there.

So, this morning I arrived at the airport in the Tri-Cities.  I knew we were a few minutes late, but I had no idea how late I really was.  I was not aware that for international flights you had to arrive an hour in advance.  Oops!  Well, the guy was really nice and literally made me run through security as they held the plane for me.  Some people were upset with me, but I made it!!!  There was no time for a goodbye with my mother--just a yell down the terminal.  At least she didn't have time to cry, ha ha.

Ok, not bad for starters.  I take this tiny "crop-duster" plane to Charlotte, NC.  It was the most beautiful plane ride I had ever been on.  It was truly God's country with the beauty I saw.  I would love to tell you more, but I don't have time just yet.

So, I arrive in Charlotte in just enough time to run to the next gate.  There I board my plane and we are 4th in line for take-off.  Then the plane pulls off the side, and there we remained for the next 2 hours and 45 minutes.  Eventually, the crew decided for us to come back to the gate.  Apparently, the weather was bad and there was nothing going in or out of Philadelphia.  I was supposed to be in Madrid at 7:45 their time---remember that.

Then, of course, I missed that flight and had to go reschedule with U.S. Airways for another flight.  Needless to say, I am still in Charlotte airport at 7:11 p.m.  I got a non-stop flight to London, which is to depart at 7:55.  I then arrive in London at 8:45 a.m.  I then have until 2:45 to explore the London airport, before catching my next flight to Madrid.  I will finally arrive in Madrid at 6:10 p.m.  Almost 12 hours later than planned.  I will then have just enough time to find the hotel before meeting my group at 8 p.m.

The weather is starting to get bad here in Charlotte.  I only hope and pray they don't cancel this flight.  I am very exhausted and have barely had time for one meal on the go today.  I must go check in now.  I will be keeping you posted.

PS-Sorry for those grammatical errors---who cares when they are in a hurry.

Mom's first comments
No there wasn't time for a proper good-bye. But she is right. Had there been time I probably would have been crying my eyes out. I stood on the observation deck and watched as the plane took off. It was a small plane. So by the time she gets to Spain she should have experienced flying in the small and large planes. I hate that she has had to sit around the airport all day, but there is a reason for everything. I hope the flight to London is a restful one for her. So when you read this baby, remember Mom loves you and please stay safe.

Well you wanted to see London, I guess you will see it sooner than later. Wish you the best of luck and safe travels.
