So we arrived in Nyanza and had a very strange broken French (they speak French here, officially English but loads of people don't speak it yet) conversation with the receptionist.  It seems like not many tourists come out this way and she behaved like she was very surprised to even see us.  After some debating it seemed that we could stay in the room but if we stayed past midnight we'd have to pay for the next day, either that or wait until 1 minute past midnight to check in.  Pretty strange.

We visited a replica of the Kings house.  It was a very impressive hut, much like all the mud & straw huts we've seen but massive.  My favorite part of the tour was when they showed us to where the King would keep his favorite cows, at this point a man appeared and started playing the flute, which seemed to hypnotise the cow.  After a while he grabbed the cows gigantic horns and danced with it, priceless.  We also visited a very nice art gallery, then later met a man who wished us a good evening with the less than traditional "OK, thank you, rest in peace"
