Once in Vegas our first stop was the Go Raw Café (a café we came to appreciate at the Green Festival in Seattle where they had a booth), we enjoyed a hearty meal of delicious raw Mediterranean pizza with hummus and sprouts and a raw veggie beet burger with a side of avocado fries. Then it was back to the strip to check in at the NYNY hotel and found our room to be a hike across the bulk of the hotel. After getting settled in our first "real" honeymoon stopover and making some much needed communications, we took off to tour the famous Las Vegas strip. After walking through the various hotels that are Paris, Venice and Rome, we can say that we have visited some essence of those beautiful places on our honeymoon.
After walking back to the hotel, we met up for drinks with groomsmen Wes Wood's Brother Will (our new friend); for drinks and stories about the life that is the Vegas strip.
I found it striking how it is that the little town of Colorado City with its Fundamentalist Mormon religious beliefs and sustainable manner can be located only 2 hours form the epitome of American consumerism, sin and decadence.
