upon arrival in Santa Elena, it was 10am and already hot, hot, hot.  first order of business, find an ATM - we were completely out of Quetzals.  Once we found money we proceeded to walk from Santa Elena to the island of Flores over a man-made causeway. 
we started walking on the outside road (beach road) around the island, looking for a hostel.  after walking halfway around we saw a hospedaje in an interior street, the hospedaje de doņa goya.  they pointed us in the direction of the dorm room for 25Q per person per night.  we dropped our bags and went to explore this tiny little island.  this island is a little hill with cobblestone streets rounding up to the top where at the summit is a church.  its a nice little town, we could have spent a few days there, but due to our schedule only 1 night... the next morning we were off for Finca Ixobel.
