we got up at 5.30am, took suicide showers and headed off to the water taxi to independence...
from the water taxi stop in independence we walked into town to catch the Belize city express bus... Shane hopped onto a chicken bus ready to go... i asked if it was the express bus... nope not the express bus... Shane got back off and we waited till 7.30am for the express bus...
the express bus was a nice surprise... and old (air conditioned) trailways bus all the way from Houston... we got to ride in style for 3.5 hours.. the express bus stopped in independence, dangriga, Belmopan then Belize city..
in Belize city we took a cab over to the Caye caulker ferry dock to catch the ferry that stopped first at Caye caulker and then went on to san Pedro in ambergris Caye, this was a 1.5 hr ride in a hot tin can (see fotos)... when we got to san Pedro, the resort people were waiting at the dock for us.. but we asked them to take our bags and we would take the resort ferry at 6.15 instead of the 2.30... we walked around town a bit, got groceries and then were back at the resort ferry boat at 6pm... for another 20 minute boat ride...
now we are here at the resort for a week...
yeah... no traveling...
