Chicago is another big American city with a particular life of its own. We will be staying downtown for a few days before heading off to Iowa. The people here seem to be direct and impersonal unless you already know them, and tourists seem to make up the majority of the people most everywhere. The color in Lake Superior, along the park that stretches for miles, is a surprising green that I formally have acquainted only to the freshest of waters.
 Last night Kirstin and I went out to "real" Chicago style deep dish pizza with some of her wonderful friends and after 1 1/2 pieces I had no room for anything else.  More soon,  S & K
