Bangkok Day 2

2nd day and last day in Bangkok today. Just as yesterday, ive taken refuge from the thunderstorm to add another addition to my blog. I leave at 8.00 this evening for Ko Tao, which will equal about a day of traveling by bus and boat. I've got my accommodation and diving course sorted yesterday afternoon, so everything for the next week should run pretty smooth.
Didn't have time to see the grand palace yesterday and the temple of the emerald buddha, so went this morning (by now i know it rains come mid afternoon), and it was really amazing. I've never seen anthing like the temples in Bangkok. There so... amazing. So much gold and gems and work put into these huge buildings.
Got a tuk tuk ride there and back, which i was dreading as they continue to scare the life out of me and i'm sat there praying that i'm not going to be crushed between traffic. Still dead hot here though, but hopefully travelling south to the coast should make things a little more comfortable. Honsestly though, still cant wait to loeave Bangkok. I love it and hate it at the same time. Having my first stop being Bangkok on my trip was probably throwing myself in at the deep end, at least thats how it's felt to me, but now at least i know i can handle the rest of my trip no problem. Everything is sooo different. Still at least you can get by fairly easily on english, cause most people undertsand and speak enough to get by, even if you do have to repeat yourself about 3 times and ask the person to repeat what they said at least 5.
Most stuff is dirt cheap, but i still seem to be spending more than i want to, but bangkok is suppossed to be the most expensive place in Thailand, so bring on the south. Got to go. Adios. More thumbnails ...

Onto your next stop soon. It is going fast! Glad you booked the diving course. Nothing to report on the post front, but I will text you as soon as I get anything. Tris didn't get into NYT. I have my lebara phone with me mostly. How much does it cost for me to phone you? May do that as want to hear all your stories from the diving course.
God Bless

Sweet dude, sounds like you're having an experience! If you're on the internet anytime soon, there's a new Death Cab video on their webpage from the new album, it's totally a world traveling gap year themed music video! haha But I'm sure you have more exciting things to do. Hope all goes well! - Nick
