Well it feels like the end of an era. Yes, another era... I have spent the past 2 1/2 weeks in some sort of 'life-limbo' as I have been somewhat removed from the realities of life e.g. rent, employment, looking after myself, but those details have always been in the back of my mind so I've never completely relaxed! Vintage Claire. I have a newfound appreciation for home though - both my family and the country - after travelling this year. But it's amazing how quickly you slip back into old mindsets  - complaints about shower pressure, too many beautiful boots and not enough money, a lack of television choice... when only about a month ago I had food poisoning in the serengeti!

Tonight I fly to London via Singapore for a few days with friends. Then onwards to Dublin where I'll be living. I'm excited and I'm emotional! It will be great to be reunited with Paddy but the tears have been a regular occurence over the past few days as I prepare to say goodbye to NZ, family, and security! I really do want to go (otherwise I might turn into a Hamilton hermit) however venturing into the unknown is tough (new country, job, friends, home, accents and leprachauns) and I've had too much time to think (aka worry!). Dublin is enjoying a balmy 17 degree summer though (!) but the consolation is that it is relatively tropical compared to Hamilton frosts and fog.  Another 30 hour flying experience and a strangely heightened fear of flying, so I'm not looking forward to that... Anyway, first time to Europe so will keep you posted on the Dublin experience as well as any other foreign adventures. Wish me luck!
