Baseball is the national sport here and we decided that we must go and watch a game.  Fortunately there was a game in Leon where they were playing Masaya where Karen had stayed previously.

We headed off in our taxi because we weren't sure exactly where the stadium was and also some areas are a bit dodgy for wandering around in the dark.  We brought especial tickets and were ushered in the team area for the Masaya team where they wives usually sit.  The stadium was mostly empty and the players all seemed to be Caribbean.  Both teams were warming and suddenly there was a pop and all the lights went out.  Slowly they started to put the stadium lights on, which again needed to warm up and pop they went out again

The Masaya (full of Carib's) were starting to chant, 'no light, no game'  it appears that if Leon couldn't provide light then Masaya won by default.  They were also taunting the Leon players by saying ' I cant see you, that is cos there is nothing to see!'

finally all the stadium lights were on and the teams got into their positions.  The first batter was called up and pop, the lights go out again.  This time was it was game over.

We waited outside the stadium for a taxi and then decided we should walk the way all the full taxis went and it was only a 10 minute walk to town.  We had a fab meal at a vege place on the other side of town (a 5 min walk).

Then it was lights out!
