Paraty is a quiet little colonial town. The bright colours of the old houses, enhance the authenticity of it all. Roads, laid with aging stones and drainage seems to be in the middle of the road. It's a bewildering sight to see horse and carriage trotting through sill water, after a hard down poor of rain.
Buses leave Paraty every 1 -2 hours to picturesque beaches and waterfalls near bye. I stand at the bus station, unsure which one to take. Trinidad is written on one. I think It's a beach, only one way to find out. It's been fantastic traveling on my own, flexibility is now my middle name, spontaneous my first; or so I like to believe.
Yes, Trinidad was a beach. Another beautiful Brazilian beach. I really don't get sick of seeing them
While traveling, I hear so much generic negativity about people in relation to their countries. It's hard to believe people still put a "label" on others, because of where they come from. Within all different societies, there is the funny, the passionate, the artist, the musician, the prude(Kanaris), the organiser, the analysis, the arrogant twat and so on....
Maybe human nature develops these different traits to enable people to co-exist in a community. The question is, are we born like this? or is it developed through relationships and experiences. Do we have the power to change out personality? to switch from one to another, through different turn of events? Where is a psychiatrist/psychologist(which one is it?) when u need one.....
Once again I'm standing in a state of shock
A local at the top, charged towards the rocks edge. somehow, in an inhuman like fashion, he manages to slide down on his feet, generating some epic speed. Hitting a lip, he bounds into the air, only to land on his feet again to continue his maniactic (is this such a word?) slide into the water below, SICK! I'm gutted I didn't capture it on video.
I try this, but only manage to make it down on my backside. Put in my place once again, I flee to locate a tranquil cachaca Factory; in order to taste test the finner flavors of this wonderful beverage.
cachaca is an alcohol made from sugar can, similar to rum. The sugar cane is cut and squeezed. It's juices are fermented and cachaca is born! A popular Brazilian drink is Caporarina. A mix of lime crushed to a pulp, drenched in cachaca, sugar, ice and topped with a little bit of water. It's a very strong sweet drink, that goes down too well.
The will to surf is taking It's toll, Florianopolis is calling a silent song only i can hear "come away with me"
