Where I stayed
Anyway, I started out visiting the medieval crime and punishment museum. I've seen my share of torture devices and such already on this trip, but this museum was not hokey or sensationalized. There was a lot more history of medieval law and punishment procedure.
Just around the corner was St Jacobs church. Paid a quick visit and strolled down some of the quiet streets. Ended up walking the wall around most of the city. Such a great view. Climbed the tower by the entrance to the city and stopped for lunch and to take a break. Next I walked around a vineyard and through the castle garden. I can't say it enough, fall is the perfect time to visit these little country towns. The colors are beautiful and the weather is just right.
I stopped for dinner at a place that makes potatoes the main theme of every dish. After stuffing myself, I walked more of the wall. Had to burn off all that heavy food. I grabbed a coffee and took a load off. Just sat and watched people walk by. Enjoyed the quiet for awhile.
After dark, I went on the night watchman's tour. This was a lot of fun actually. The guide was in character (hilarious) and gave us a great history lesson of the city. After the tour I walked the wall back to my hostel which was actually kinda spooky because there are parts that are closed in like a tunnel. I had to feel around in the dark. Got my blood going a bit. Super fun!
