After breakfast at the hotel, DH headed over to the conference, and I got ready for the day. I had to meet him a little later at the conference because I had to take some pictures during his talk. After he was done, we headed over to KaDeWe for lunch and shopping. KaDeWe is amazing; it's the largest department store in continental Europe. Harrod's is bigger and very similar. For lunch we went up to the 7th Floor where the restaurant is, but it was like a cafeteria, and everything was in German...so we bailed. We went downstairs (6th Floor) to the Food Hall and *that* was great. It is just like the Food Hall in Harrod's, but maybe a bit smaller. Every kind of food you can imagine with areas where you can order food to eat as well as take home. So we got a sandwich here, and frites (French Fries) and water there, and our last stop cappucinos and dessert. It was quite fun.

Afterwards we started shopping, but DH had to get back to the conference so I had 3 hrs of shopping on my own. No problem. :) There was a whole floor of lingerie, two floors of housewares, lots of clothes of course...simply amazing. DH met me back where we started when he was done, and we headed back to the hotel. We took a quick snooze (only 1 nap today, yay!), then headed out to East Berlin. Hackescher Market, East Berlin

We took a taxi to Hackescher Market. We were mesmerized by the TV tower. It looks like the death star from Star Wars--took lots of pics. There were people milling around, lots of restaurants. We saw this one girl in an interesting outfit: short fluffy jacket, corset over the jacket, tight pants with knee-hi boots. I thought, "Hmmm, interesting look." Then we saw two more girls dressed similarly. I asked DH, "Ummm, are those girls hookers?" His reply, "Yeah, I think so." Intriguing since this area seemed very yuppy. The girls were young and quite pretty, and spotlessly clean looking. Their outfits were all in white. Roccos Tavern, East Berlin

Anyway, moving on, we went to a cool tavern, Roccos, in the train station area after walking around. We had the biggest hamburgers we've ever seen. Had we known, we would have shared. Luthren Church in East Berlin (Back Side)

Also had some Warsteiner beer. It was a great meal. From there we walked towards West Berlin and took some pictures. It was about 11:30 pm. Luthren Church, Berlin (Front)

Eventually we grabbed a taxi, I think about the time we got to Bebelplatz.
