The kids and I ate breakfast at the hotel. DH had already left for his conference. We went to the Dundas Station to catch the subway. I thought I could get a family pass again, but found out it's only available on weekends and holidays. But I was able to get a day pass and then bought a packet of kid tickets.

So we took the subway to Eglinton Station where we caught the #34 bus to Don Mills Rd. From there, we were at the corner of the parking area of the Ontario Science Center. I had had no idea it was so far out.

Anyway, we had a great time visiting the different areas. The kids were mesmerized for awhile with these "slides" that had different surfaces, like fake grass, leather, teflon, etc, and then they could slide these irons down them also coated on the bottom with the different surfaces. They loved seeing which surfaces would slide and which ones wouldn't.

We saw bugs, illusions, a rainforest, a make-your-own tornado, everything you wanted to know about the human body (and more), and how annoying some of Toronto's day care kids can be. There were three or so large groups there, and they kind of took over stuff (and many of the kids were not at all well behaved). We had lunch at the cafe there. We made stop motion "movies" too. To view my silly one, go to: http://www.redshiftnow.ca/idea/?idea=KitKatGo

We retraced our public transportation steps back to the hotel. DH was there. We decided to go to the pool and let the kids swim. Then we went back and got ready for dinner. The free hotel shuttle dropped us off near the Toronto Dominion building where the restaurant is located.

We got there a little early. So we walked around a little. Saw some scupltured cows on a lawn...not sure what the significance is though. Then we decided to just go on up. Canoe is located on the 54th floor. We got our table, and our server, Claude, greeted us warmly.

Our guests, four collegues of DH, were a little late in arriving, but Claude took great care of us Giant Cave Cockroaches--Ewww!

. He arranged for the chef to make a special kid's version of the gnocchi for DD and DS, plus he was going to get their appetizer, Spring Rolls, from the bar. I took a couple pictures also (out the big windows and of the restaurant).

Once everyone was there, we had a wonderful time. The food was really good. My only complaint was that my bison was not the best cut of meat, but everything else was top notch. Our service couldn't have been better. Claude took the kids and I on a tour. He showed us some of the sights out one of the windows, then he took us back to the kitchen and showed us everything including fabulous looking desserts and the cold storage.

We all had great conversations, and our guests clearly enjoyed talking to the children. Our guests all work in Boston and want us and the kids to come out next time (instead of just DH, lol). Plus, one of them is from Istanbul and he said he'd love to guide us around his town some day (I'd LOVE to take him up on that.)

It was one of those nights you just don't doubt that everyone had a great time. We also got quite a few compliments on the kids' behavior; we were there for about three hours. Claude and our guests commented on how well they behaved, and even a female server came up and said she was in love with DS!

We said our goodbyes after dinner. Then the four of us, started walking towards the hotel. I had found out earlier in the day that our pass and tickets are good for the subway, buses and trolleys, so we decided to catch a trolley back to the hotel. It dropped us off just a few steps from the door down at the corner. It was a good night.
