Our iTouches actually went off like they were supposed to, waking us at 6:00 am. We did our last minute packing and tidying. It was time to say goodbye to Paris.

But first we had to get to the airport. Remembering the nightmarish journey *from* the airport, I was not so keen on the trip back. But we got our suitcases down the 5 flights of stairs, and started walking down the street to the Metro station.

Thank goodness for nice French people, that's all I have to say. One guy helped the Girl with her suitcase down a flight of stairs. One guy helped me by turning around and carrying the big suitcase up two flights of stairs. And to top it off, a very nice woman took one of the suitcases quite a distance to where our train was, made sure it was the right train, and put it on the train for us! Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

So all in all, it went pretty smoothly. Perhaps I should start going to Mass more often, or some form of church anyway.

However, things did go downhill. The line to check in was enormously long. After asking several times about our flight, the lady finally told me they were delaying flights; everyone was in line trying to check in.

So, we left late, but it really didn't matter to us since we had a long layover in Atlanta. The flight itself went smoothly. We watched movies and ate. The food is much better on AirFrance then on American airlines, not to mention the free wine. :) Plus, the flight attendants are actually nice. We slept a little too, and thereby missed the second meal, which was fine. How can anyone eat that much?

The landing was rough. Apparently that is something lacking in the pilot school for French pilots. They really need to work on that!
